CNC Mill Tending
CNC Machine Tending robotic work cell by Rapid Design Solutions, LLC. Utilizing a Universal Robots UR5e collaborative robot to flip a part through two operations using a vacuum gripper and chopstick fingers on our robot gripper. The system is interfaced with a Fanuc Robodrill CNC vertical machining center. 5-Axis Pallet Pool
Here is a video of our 30 Station Pallet Pool System for machine tending on a 5-axis mill with a UR16E. 30 pallets that each have their own number, (binary system of pins) that the gripper can identify when grabbing the pallet, the robot then loads the pallet into the machine and tells the machine what program to run based on which pallet it has placed in the machine. Combined with the UR16e allowing for pallets of up to ~30LBS. Paired with 5th-Axis automation components and a Pneumatic Chuck fixture, this setup allows for repeatable unmanned runtime. Program during the day and have your parts run through the night. This system can also be configured with the Schunk vero-s system and now has RFID pallet recognition with a custom HMI (Human Machine Interface) to easily control the system. You can also get up to 40 and even 50 pallets with a UR10e or UR20e!

CNC Mill Pallet Changer Tending
The ultimate solution for high production runs! Here we are loading a Haas VC-400ss with a Universal Robots UR10e. By direct part-loading a pallet changer with a robot you get the best of all worlds. You eliminate the time of the robot in the machine and can work on setups while the machine is cutting chips! We can also put our systems on Midaco pallet changers if your machine doesn't already have one!

Press Brake Tending
Here, we use a Universal Robots UR10e to tend an Amada press brake. The robot picks up a part, goes to the next stack if a stack is empty, pushes off an extra part if two are stuck together, relocates the part through multiple bends and drops off the finished part. Screw Driving
We prototyped this screw-driving system for the customer by providing the robots, grippers, screw presenter, pneumatics, wiring and programming. Then the customer turned it onto the finished system you see below!

Deburring
This was a proof of concept we did for a customer to deburr parts with a Universal Robots UR5e. Unfortunately, the customer lost the job before we could move forward with a more polished system but it was fun to be a part of!
